Who is BeatYa?

When was BeatYa founded?

The operator of the website, BeatYa Online Entertainment Limited, was founded in 2006 by four graduates of the renowned Graduate School of Business of the University of Chicago (the university which has produced the most Nobel Prize winners of any academic institution worldwide). In July 2006 the site was launched. In the meantime, several million Euro have already been won by BeatYa players through playing Yatzy, Backgammon, Billiards as well as other exciting games. For example, one of the most successful players has already received payouts in excess of 20.000 Euro.

BeatYa is constantly working on implementing new ideas to improve the variety of games offered and to present BeatYa members with additional attractive community features. Why are the BeatYa offices registered in Malta?

The BeatYa founders originate from Germany, Austria and Switzerland. The choice to make Malta the jurisdiction of incorporation of BeatYa Online Entertainment Limited was made after in-depth research, as Malta is one of the few states of the European Union to regulate the operation of online skill gaming sites. A license is required for an online gaming site operation by Maltese laws - unlike Germany - comprising strict regulations of website operators, in particular in connection with the security of the website and payment transactions. Unlike many other providers in Europe, such as providers from Austria or Germany, BeatYa does not operate in an unclear and grey legal area, but rather under strict governmental supervision and monitoring. Other providers who are, e.g., registered in Germany advertise in part with an "official legal guarantee in Germany". This is confusing, as this simply means that the provider is registered as a limited liability company in Germany - but an in-depth legal supervision for the correct operation of games and managing of players' money does not take place in Germany through a dedicated governmental institution for gaming. By voluntarily selecting the Malta location, BeatYa has subjected itself to the considerably stricter professional supervision through a "Regulatory Authority" - the Lotteries and Gaming Authority.

The incorporation of BeatYa being in the EU-State Malta does therefore not mean less, but more legal security for our players, as opposed to companies based in Germany or Austria.

Who is responsible for BeatYa? / The management team of BeatYa

CEO: Jürg Tschanz

CEO of BeatYa is Jürg Tschanz. Jürg is Swiss citicen. He has a Beacholor in Business Admininistration from the HES Lausenne as well as a MBA from the Universaty of Chicago. His previous positions enclose the role of the chairman of the board (CEO) of Baumgarten Papiers in Lausanne as well as extensive experience in different roles with increasing responsibility in the enterprise development of Dell Computers. Jürg speaks and writes fluently German, English, French and Spanish. If time allowes it, Jürg does enjoy to play a match Gin Rummy as a test player on BeatYa.

Chief Technical Officer: Frank Borrmann

As Chief Technology Officer (CTO) of BeatYa, Frank Borrmann manages a highly talented team of server experts, software engineers and screen designers. His extensive know-how comes from over ten years experience developing online communities and value-added services. First as manager of a Start-Up, later on as an independent IT project manager, he contributes his skills and fascination for Internet technology to BeatYa. "I have always wanted to develop a platform where I enjoy playing with myself!", Frank stated about BeatYa. You can find him in the test player lobby of his favorite game Yatzy Duel on a daily basis.

Customer Service Manager: Sibylle Zimmerli

At BeatYa, Sibylle is responsible for responding to customer enquiries and for prompt payouts of all winnings. Sibylle has a degree in hotel management and has experience in dealing with demanding customers. She speaks fluent German, French and English. She hardly has any time for playing......as she is too busy paying out wins......
