Do I need additional software to play?

You only need a current Windows PC, an internet browser such as Internet Explorer or Firefox and a Flash Player, which is generally already installed. Otherwise you can download a suitable Flash-Version at the following link:

http://www.macromedia.com/go/getflashplayer

If you click on the specified link, the displayed page will recognize which browser you are using. You will then receive installation instructions relevant to your browser. To install a Macromedia Flash Player it generally must be noted that you possibly need administrative access. It is recommended to close all open programs before you start the installation.

Does BeatYa use Cookies?

Cookies are small data which BeatYa saves for you on your computer. They contain information on player names, preferred language and future tournaments in which you can participate. In order to use our website you must enable cookies on your browser settings.

Which screen size do I need?

The set screen size will determine your optimal playing comfort. We recommend a minimum screen size of 800 x 600pixels, otherwise some game windows will not be displayed in their totality.

Firewall

Naturally a connection to the server must be established in order to play. The firewall can also be responsible for receiving the error message "the connection to the server could not be established". A network administrator is the only one in a company or a public area who can establish your access.

Browser

It is important for our games to always use the latest browser versions from Microsoft Internet Explorer, Netscape/Mozilla or Opera

Popup-Blocker

If you have installed a Popup-Blocker, some windows may not function (i.e. Player Info in the game). With some blockers it helps to press Shift/Control simultaneously while clicking on the link. Our support-team would be more than happy to assist, should you have problems with the configuration of your Popup Blocker.

Loss of Connection

The loss of connection to the game server can have a different impact on single and multiplayer games. Single player games are Blackjack Duel, Knobel Duel, Mahjong, Solitaire, Sudoku, Bloxx, Sugar. Multi player games are Backgammon, 8-Ball Billard, Gin Rummy, Schnapsen and Skat

Loss of Connection during single player games

In order to classify a game as won, the game must be won according to the relevant game rules. If a player loses the connection to the server, he has the option to re-enter the game within the game time. Meanwhile the clock continues to tick in the game. When the game time is over and the player has not managed to re-enter the game, the last score applies.

Loss of Connection during Multi player games

In order to classify a game as won, the game must be won according to the relevant game rules. In addition, the connection to the game server of the winner must remain established during the entire game process. If the player loses the connection, they have 2 minutes to re-enter the game. If managing to do so, the loss of connection has no impact, the player was not knocked-out from a team player due to exceeding the time limit. An average programmed computer will assume the role of a team player and keeps on playing the game if knock-out or exceeding of 2 minutes occurs. However, the player has the option to re-enter the ongoing game.

If the game is won by the computer opponent or from the re-entered player in accordance with the relevant game rules, a refund of the stakes will be granted to both players. Otherwise the game will be classified as lost. If both players lose connection during the game, a refund of the stakes will also be granted.
