What is a challenge?

Imagine you want to play a game with a friend, colleague or acquaintance, but he or she just happens to be offline.

At other gaming sites, you will be unable to play with each other, unless you agree to meet in the lobby at the same time, so that you can start a game against each other.

BeatYa is better!

Here, you can challenge your buddies with ease, even if they are not online at the time you want to play – this works for all games that can be played consecutively and where the nature of the game does not require being present at the same time. (Right now, this works for Yatzy Duel, Blackjack Duel, Solitaire, Sugar, Mahjongg and SudokuBloxx).

How do I start a challenge?

You can start a challenge in several ways, depending on whether you are challenging someone who is already registered at BeatYa or someone who is not yet a member of the BeatYa community.

How to challenge a BeatYa player

Just go to your "My BeatYa" menu and then, on the left navigation bar, under "beatMe – playing without the lobby", select "Challenge a BeatYa player". Then just enter the name of the player you want to compete against and you are ready to go. Alternatively, you can just go to the profile page of another player and, under "Interact with others", select "Challenge [Player name]".

How to challenge people by e-mail

You can also challenge your friends, colleagues and acquaintances who are not yet registered with BeatYa – in your "My BeatYa" menu, just click on "Challenge by e-mail". On the next page, just enter the name and e-mail address of your prospective "victim", and off you go! Your opponent does not need to make a deposit to accept the challenge. He or she just selects an available player name and can play immediately!

How does a challenge work?

No matter whether you are challenging someone who is already a BeatYa member or a buddy who is not yet a member of the BeatYa community – playing a challenge is really easy: After starting the challenge, you just select the game, the stake and a battle cry and start the game. Your opponent will immediately be notified by e-mail about the challenge (if she or he is already a BeatYa member, the challenge will also appear in her/his "My BeatYa" menu). After you have finished your game and have left the game, you will find the game in your "My BeatYa" menu under "Challenges sent". Once your opponent has played, you will receive a mail with the result of the game. The result of the game will also be available by clicking on results under "My Account" which is part of your "My BeatYa" main menu (if you are a real money player).

How much time does my opponent have to accept the challenge?

Your opponent has three days to accept the challenge. This time period is longer than the 5 hours for which a game is open when started in the lobby because some people do not check their e-mail every day and everyone should have ample time to face up to the challenge and play. If your opponent does not accept the challenge within the given timeframe, the stake will be re-credited to your account.

Can I challenge other players for real money?

Yes, you can – if both you and your opponent are already real money players on BeatYa.
