Sudokubloxx

Rules of the game

The Sudoku game board is a square consisting of 3x3 grids, each consisting of 3x3 fields. A player has to correctly fill these grids with the numbers one through nine. It is the player's taks to fill all empty squares with the accurate numbers from 1 to 9.

The same rules apply to Sudoku Bloxx, except that here numbers fall onto the game board. The player not only has to place these numbers onto the board, but also pile them on top of each other according to Sudoku rules, making sure that each number appears only once in each row, column or block. A Joker can also be used. The object of the game is to create as many rows, columns and grids as possible using the falling numbers.

The game is over once all rows, columns and grids have been filled with the correct numbers or the time is up. If the same number appears twice, this is counted as an error. If this occurs three times in the course of one game, the game is ended.

How to play

Use the keyboard to place a number onto the board. Use the "Up" or "Down" arrow keys to move a number in the desired direction. Press "Arrow-down" to make a number fall faster, and the Space bar to make a number appear on the board right away.

Numbers have to be arranged in neighboring rows and columns on the board. Note that the numbers cannot be placed anywhere, but only in the lowest available square. Tiles with symbols can also fall onto the board. They do not provide points, but simplify the game.

A Joker can also be used. A Joker appears once a player has filled up three grids with correct numbers. Every number which appears in all three grids is highlighted and represents a Joker. It turns into a black tile with a symbol. This number can thus be used again in the corresponding column. If the number is e.g. a 9, then another 9 can be placed in that column. There are also golden numbers in the game. A player gets bonus points for completing a block containing one of these numbers.

The next number to fall onto the board is shown in the upper left corner. Numbers can thus be strategically placed. If it is not possible to correctly place numbers which are already on the board, the player can shift one of these numbers to a completed column, but this move costs 100 penalty points.

The scoring system

A player receives 10 points for every number placed. If a player presses the Space bar to make the number fall through several rows before landing on an empty field, the player gets an additional point for every row passed. Loss of connection to game server

Loss of connection to the game server affects single and multiplayer games differently.

The following games are single player games: Blackjack Duel, Yatzy Duel, Mahjong, Solitaire, Sudoku Bloxx, Sugar!,

The following games are multiplayer games: Backgammon, 8-Ball Billiards, Gin Rummy, Schnapsen, Skat

Loss of connection for single-player games

For a game to be classed as won, the applicable game rules must have been adhered to

Should a player lose his/her connection, he/she has 2 minutes, in which to re-enter the game. The game clock will continue to count down while the player is disconnected. Should the 2 minutes pass before the player manages to return to the game, the last points recorded will be the final score.

Loss of connection for multiplayer games

For a game to be classed as won, the applicable game rules must have been adhered to. Furthermore, the winner of the game must have maintained a connection to the game server for the duration of the game.

Should a player lose his/her connection, he/she has 2 minutes, in which to re-enter the game. Should this be achieved, there shall be no consequences, provided that the player is not ejected from the game by the opponent for exceeding the allowed time. In the case that the 2 minute time limit is exceeded, the computer will take the ejected player's place and complete the game. The player still has the opportunity to re-enter the game.

In the case that the computer or the player who re-enters the game after the allowed time limit wins, the original stakes shall be refunded to both players. Otherwise, the game will be classed as lost. Should both players lose their connections during the game, both will receive their original stakes.
